The Boston LGBT Film Festival and Tte Chlotrudis Society For Independent Film (CSIF), (in conjunction with the Brattle Film Foundation), is pleased to announce a 7pm Monday, December 10th screening of Blues For Willadean, the final installment of its Fall 2012 CineCache Film Series at the historic art-house theatre in the heart of Cambridge’s Harvard Square.

The film’s star, Beth Grant, will be present to introduce the film and participate in a post-screening Q&A session. Tickets are $10 or $8 for Chlotrudis or Brattle members.

From writer/director Del Shores ("Sordid Lives"), "Blues For Willadean" is the screen adaptation of his play "Trials and Tribulations of A Trailer Trash Housewife" about Willadean (Beth Grant, "Donnie Darko," "No Country For Old Men"), a woman trying to find her place in life. Her husband, physically and mentally abusive, has banned her from having contact with their homosexual son, which eventually leads Willadean down her path of discovery.

Supporting her along the way is her best friend, LaSonia (Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer), her sole confidant and someone who has seen her fair share of the world and knows exactly what Willadean is going through. "Blues For Willadean" is darkly comic and entertaining drama about a woman’s journey into her own self-discovery.

This very special film tackles difficult issues of domestic abuse and isolation. Watch this page for more announcements regarding this important event.

Tickets $10, $8 Brattle and Chlotrudis members.
