The Good War And Those Who Refused To Fight It

Aron Gold, Esq. READ TIME: 1 MIN.

During World War II, there were a few men who refused to fight under the draft system. The Good War and Those who Refused to Fight It is a slightly dated documentary about those men who conscientiously objected to fighting in both Japan and Europe. Featuring interviews with some of the most popular objectors of the time, the movie details several different points of view of those who refused to fight. From religious to political reasons, to just plain morality, you understand the tough choices, and stands, these men made for their unpopular beliefs.

Overall, Those who Refused does a decent job of mixing excellent narration, gripping interviews, and news reels. Unfortunately, the presentation is a bit dated, and it does get somewhat preachy at times. This DVD presentation includes many special features, along with a slightly suspect CO Handbook.
