Two Cartoon Dads Predictably Spark Ire from One Million Moms

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Don't say we didn't warn you.

As predicted, One Million Moms, the media watchdog arm of the anti-LGBT hate group American Family Association, has launchd an action alert against kids cable channel Nickelodeon over the inclusion of a family with two dads in the cartoon "Loud House." The 'million' moms are urging their 86,000 followers to contact Nickelodeon's parent company Viacom and do what they do best - complain.

"Alerting all parents!" reads 1MM's latest action alert. "Nickelodeon Kid's Network plans to feature a family with two dads -- Harold and Howard -- in the animated show 'The Loud House.' The series, which centers around the life of Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters, will be the first Nickelodeon show in history to feature a married same-sex couple. The gay couple will make their debut on Wednesday, July 20, at 5:00 p.m. ET/ 4:00 p.m. CT during the episode "Overnight Success." The married gay couple is revealed while dropping off their child Clyde at the Loud residence for a slumber party."

The e-rant continues:

Unfortunately, children are now being exposed to same-sex marriage on a network that is designed for kids. Just because something may be legal or because some are choosing a lifestyle doesn't make it morally correct. Nickelodeon should stick to entertaining instead of pushing an agenda. Nickelodeon has decided to be politically correct instead of providing family-friendly programming.

Families tuning in to watch a children's network may encounter a premature discussion on sexual orientation that is completely uncalled for. Conservative families need to urge Nickelodeon to avoid controversial topics that children are far too young to comprehend. This is the last place a parent would expect their children to be confronted with topics that are too difficult for them to understand. Mature issues of this nature are being introduced too early and too soon, and it is extremely unnecessary.

1MM is asking their followers to contact Nickelodeon's parent company Viacom and and request that the scene involving the gay dad be edited out of the episode.

The anti-LGBT group warn that "if producers keep this episode as originally planned, then conservative families will have no choice but to no longer watch Nickelodeon in their homes so they can avoid the previews, commercials and reruns for this irresponsible episode."

1MM's latest blow-up is far from the first time the group has lost it over a cartoon. In fact the group has a long history of fighting what they perceive as animated filth.

In June, 2013, the moms had a freak-out over "SheZow" a cartoon about a male protagonist who turns into a female superhero by saying "you go, girl!"

In November 2015, the group was outraged over (what they perceived) a potty-mouthed stuffed dragon toy on the Disney Channel's "Doc McStuffins" program.

In January 2015, they got all in a twist over an animated Pop Tarts that said "Ah, jam it!"
