'The Mooch' Is Back with 'Big Brother' Reveal... and Revealing his Bigness

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

What may be the most click-baiting revelation from "Team of Vipers," Cliff Sims' tell-all book about working in Trump's White House, is the story he tells about Anthony Scaramucci, who for a brief time was White House communications director.

After an interview on the White House north lawn, Scaramucci was approached by several network cameraman who asked to take selfies with him. "As he snapped selfies, Scaramucci 'put both hands on his belt buckle, leaned in close to the cameramen–all of whom happened to be African American–and said, 'Can I tell you guys something? We've already hit it off, and I think I know one of the reasons why.' Mooch paused for a few moments to build the anticipation. 'It's 'cause I'm black from the waist down.'

"The cameramen, according to Sims's account, laughed 'hysterically,' with one playfully exclaiming, 'He's crazy!' as Scaramucci waltzed away beaming."

Asked to comment by The Daily Beast, Scaramucci texted. "Nah thanks though."

This story wasn't the only time 'The Mooch' made headlines this week. His absence from the set of "Celebrity Big Brother" was noted by those watching the live video feed earlier in the week, and his appearance from Davos on Wednesday confirmed the rumors that he had left the show; but it took days for the broadcast show to explain.

And, it turns out, it he was never a houseguest.

, "on the Jan. 25 episode, it was revealed that Scaramucci was not really a houseguest but just part of a bigger twist of the season.

"With everyone else gathered in the living room, Scaramucci popped up on the television in a suit and with an American flag backdrop. 'Surprise!' he told his new friends. 'Just like I left my mark in Washington, I'm going to leave my mark on the 'Big Brother' game.'

"Scaramucci said that the 'Big Brother' house resembled his time in Washington, D.C. in one key way' target='_blank'> 'You get judged quickly – before people really know who you are. And you never get a second chance.'
"However, Scaramucci was on the block for eviction, and with his exit from the house, the game had been thrown for a loop. In a new twist, he offered the other houseguests up for eviction (actor Jonathan Bennett and comedian Tom Green) a second chance at safety with "Mooch's veto."
