Benito Skinner, Charli XCX & Jonah Hill's Strong Baby to Star in Amazon 'Overcompensating'

A new LGBTQ comedy is on the way from Amazon Studios that will bring together some of today's most popular queer icons.

As reported by Deadline, Benito Skinner, English singer-songwriter Charli XCX, Jonah Hill's Strong Baby will star in the A24 production, Overcompensating.

The film follows a high school football player, played by Skinner, who is struggling to accept his sexuality. So he does what anyone would do: overcompensates, and hilarity no doubt ensues.

Created and inspired by Skinners life, the film is described as poignant and personal but deeply funny.

"This ensemble comedy explores the experiences we all have in figuring ourselves out – the various personalities we try out along the way, and the journey to find the people who accept us just as we are," Deadline reports.

Skinner will executive produces with Charli XCX, who will also provide music for the feature.

An actor and a comedian and actor, Skinner recently had a reoccurring role as Jack Cole Jordan on the "Queer As Folk" reboot and also guest-starred on "Search Party" and Showtime's "Ziwe."

A gay icon known for her clubby hits, Charli XCX most recently released her fifth studio album titled "Crash" in March.
