The Guys of Logo's 'Fire Island': Where are They Now?

Timothy Rawles READ TIME: 4 MIN.

In 2017 a group of six male friends --- Khasan, Jorge, Cheyenne, Justin, Patrick, and Brandon ---headed to Fire Island, New York, to film a reality show of the same name for Logo. They were followed by cameras as they traversed through all the parties, hook-ups, and drama during a summer at the gay mecca.

"Fire Island" was produced by daytime talk show host Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos. They were enamored by the settlement after visiting it one summer. Most people take a ferry to get to the island and the trip is usually a kickoff party as hundreds of men and women prepare to leave their troubles behind and embark on a vacation of unadulterated fun. Logo tapped into this side of the LGBTQ+ community that had never been documented in a TV series before. Much like MTV's east coast provincial straight-focused reality series "Jersey Shore," "Fire Island" attempted to emphasize each cast member's personality and how they intermingle with others, either in their friend group or beyond.

The show wasn't an instant hit. In fact, critics were either dissatisfied with its lack of drama or conversely cursed the show for its portrayal of shop-worn stereotypes and lingo while contributing to "gay America's moral decline." Nevertheless, it did earn a spoof on "Saturday Night Live" at the time.

There is no denying that reality TV is the CliffsNotes of cliquey social circles where few seldom tread. While "Fire Island" didn't elevate the genre, it certainly was important for representation even if that depiction wasn't as pioneering as "The Real World" 25 years prior. The cast of "Fire Island" probably saw it differently and it is too bad the series wasn't renewed for a second season. But thanks to the magic of social media, we can check in on the cast to see what they are doing today.

Khasan Brailsford

Khasan Brailsford was the even-keeled member of the group. Always trying to keep the peace while making sure his bestie, Jorge, was happy, Khasan served as a sort of "mother darling" to the clan, offering heartfelt advice and motivation. Today he remains a dancer, choreographer, and aerialist who also proclaims himself to be "an aspiring tennis champ." He is also married to photographer Jason Silverman.

Jorge Bustillos

Khasan's best friend, Jorge Bustillos, always needed a little reassurance. Especially when someone pulled their penis out at a "family pool party" in episode one of "Fire Island." The South American native is a doctor in Venezuela.

Today, Jorge can be seen running through the sands of Playa Cabo San Roman, or celebrating his birthday in Archipiélago de Los Roques, Venezuela. According to his Instagram, Jorge is a live show producer and DJ. A few months ago he celebrated his birthday and the theme was to come out of the closet: "For me coming out of the closet meant leaving behind the shadows of the past alongside with my darkest emotions in order to walk through that door that takes us to that breath of fresh air, new opportunities, and new beginnings.

Cheyenne Parker

Cheyenne Parker is a model and entrepreneur. In the show, he disappeared for a day after Patrick threw an underwear party, and people on "the entire island" flooded the house. After the show, Cheyenne started a company called Maison Parker, but that domain seems to no longer exist. Today, Cheyenne is still modeling, and you can find some of his hottest current pictures plastered to his Instagram. His page is also filled with personal images such as entertaining nephews, traveling, or spending time with friends. But if you want to really get to know Cheyenne, he has an OnlyFans page.

Justin Russo

Justin Russo constantly questioned his build and how he didn't seem to fit in with the more sinewy Fire Island guests during the show's first season. "I used to be super-chunky and closeted and there's a certain body-type and mindset that I think come with Fire Island Pines that always shied me away from it," he said during the first episode.

Justin is an artist and illustrator who lives in Astoria, New York. (He had a gallery showing on the second episode of Fire Island.) Today he continues to create with his focus being on "Classic Hollywood, Pop-Culture, and re-evaluating history through a queer lens," according to RedBubble. Recently, he tags his works with the hashtag #iconsandidols. These pieces include Queen Latifah, Audrey Hepburn, and Stevie Nicks.

Patrick McDonald

On the show, Patrick McDonald was the only cast member who lived on the island full-time. He works as a bartender and is famous for his "trailer trash hot" looks on the show. He is perhaps best known for his "scrop-top" the combination of a crop-top and a tank top. Patrick also performed in an adult film after "Fire Island" ended. His Instagram account currently labels him as a "Reality TV Producer" but you may not recognize him now. He has worked on his physique since "Fire Island" and become Herculean.

Brandon Osorio

Brandon was an aspiring photographer on the show who "likes to take pictures of naked men." That passion continues six years later if you look through his social media feeds, especially Instagram where a lot of backsides are being exposed, some of which are Brandon's. In 2018, Brandon met Richie Eisenberg in Provincetown but they parted ways until about a year later when they met on Grindr. They have been together ever since. Today, they are often seen on social media, like TikTok, talking about their lives, home décor, or personal styles. Last year, Brandon announced on Linkedin that he accepted a position at Apple as a Growth Marketing Manager.
