Probably the most consistently funny show on TV was also one of the few that struggled to find its original voice. But over the past four seasons "Parks and Rec: Season Four" has become the best sitcom on television and even the most heartfelt.

Featuring an ensemble cast starring Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, a perky deputy director of the Parks and Recreation Department of the small town of Pawnee, Indiana, this is a comedy that truly makes you laugh out loud. She is joined by: Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson, the gruff and stoic no-nonsense and would-rather-not-do-work office manager; Aubrey Plaza as April Ludgate, Swanson’s dry assistant; Chris Pratt is April’s dim-bulb husband Andy; Aziz Ansari is the obnoxious douche-bag Tom Haverford who is always looking for the next big thing to take him over the top; Rob Lowe as Chris Traeger a health nut and city manager; Rashida Jones as Leslie’s best friend and helper Ann Perkins; as well as Retta as the quietly sassy Donna and Jim O’Heir as the sweetly pathetic Jerry.

These characters converge to create a one-of-a-kind ensemble of characters you love. And in "Season Four" they all band together to try to get Leslie Knope into the city council. Adam Scott plays a city accountant who falls for Leslie and the two find they have to keep their romance a secret. Once it’s brought out into the open, however, they establish a loving relationship that survives the trials and tribulations of Leslie’s run for council and becomes the heart of the show.

It’s a hilarious season with lines that you sometimes miss among all the laughs, which is why it’s perfect for your collection because you can watch them over and over to see what you might have missed the first time. But it is the Extras that make it even more worth your time and money!

  • "Deleted Scenes "- over 90 minutes worth of deleted scenes over three discs!
  • "Webisodes: Road Trip" - an eight minute four-episode series following April and Andy’s trip to the Grand Canyon.
  • And a myriad of other extras such as: "Leslie Tribute Video to Tom," "Campaign Ads", a music video for Leslie’s campaign song "Catch Your Dream," a 17 minute "Gag Reel Uncensored," "The Swanson Zone" (Nick Offerman featurettes), "Odds and Ends" which includes various outtakes, a "Congratulations Amy" video for Pohler’s "Power of Comedy" award, a "New Year’s Eve" promo, "People’s Choice Award" video, and the cast’s "The Voice" promo.

There are no commentaries to speak of (which would have been a lot of fun) but with what they give you, this is comedy that just keeps giving. Knope in 2012!
