The movie event of the summer is sure to be one of the biggest Blu-ray releases of the year. The star-studded and superhero-packed Joss Whedon helmed blockbuster "Marvel’s Avengers" floored audiences this year with its combination of action and humor that fully realized the comic-book style. Amassing the characters from four previous Marvel Superhero films, the Avengers assembled the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) as the team to bring peace and harmony to the planet. Why? Because Thor’s estranged brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is out to destroy the world.

What follows is a giddy combination of action, thrills, daring duels, and tongue-in-cheek humor that makes this one of the best comic-book to film adaptations to date. Credit goes to Whedon whose own fandom allowed him the knowledge to make this type of film work, not to mention years as the master of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s" fate.

The film comes in a variety of packages (4-Disc that has the 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy, a 2-Disc of the Blu-ray and DVD, and a 1 disc DVD).

Special Features aren’t as plentiful as one would expect, but they are fairly interesting. And boy does the movie look and sound spectacular on Blu-ray!
