Hardly any movie has been as anticipated this year as Twilight sequel, New Moon. The second book adaptation from the series that began the vampire craze opens November 20th, just in time for the holiday movie madness to begin.

To help promote New Moon’s release, the film’s distributor Summit Entertainment has been sending the cast across the country paired with bands from the sequel’s soundtrack.

Last week, newcomers to the series Daniel Cudmore and Charlie Bewley came to Cherry Hill, New Jersey for an appearance with the band Hurricane Bells where they were met by hundreds of screaming girls. EDGE spoke with the pair at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia the following morning just as their hearing was returning to normal.

Part of a phenomenon

"I had gone to concert recently and you know when you leave and your ears are kind of off like just a little bit. People say something and you can kind of read their lips. That’s kind of what it was like. Tiny little girls blowing your ear drums out," Cudmore explained about the previous evening’s event.

Despite the hysteria that has surrounded the series, the actors admit that there was no real preparation given on how to handle the diehard fans. "There is obvious media training, which Dan and me did where you learn how to deal with the media," explained Bewley. "It’s not quite the same thing though when dealing with that velocity, that volume of people, who are just screaming rabidly at you. I think it’s your own psychology, your own how you work, how you translate things, how you process them. I don’t think anyone can really teach you how to absorb it or furthermore use it."

The actors, who are coming aboard the vampire saga as part of the Volturi coven, got their first real taste of what it was like to be part of the popular series while filming in Italy. The cast and crew spent more than a week shooting in Montepulciano. They were greeted by thousands of fans who wanted to see stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and thought they were safe least in the beginning, it meant they were able to anonymously walk around the town.

"Let’s face it they are there to see Chris, our director and Robert. They want to see Rob Pattinson and Kristen," Bewley, who plays Demetri in the film, said. "I walked around the first day with a security badge and no one knew who I was!"

Cudmore admits that he even had problems with the set’s security not recognizing him and asking what he was doing. But As the old saying goes, all good things come to an end and Bewley found out first hand while still in Italy what it meant to be a Twilight star.

"Someone was watching - only one person was watching - because I don’t give a very good representation of myself. They tug on the shoulder and they say are you in Twilight and I say yea. They turn and look at me, I just kind of knew it was going to happen; that Notting Hill, open-the-door-without-your-pants-on-moment. Pandemonium, there was a wall of photographers instantly within about ten seconds and it’s like," the British-born Bewley said, imitating the noise of camera’s going off. "I’m just like oh my God, this is ridiculous. This is what it was like all the eight days we were there."
