Aliens In The Attic by Blake Matthews
EDGE ContributorMonday Nov 16, 2009 Aliens in The Attic is a family-friendly movie starring Ashley Tisdale and Carter Jenkins. The Pearson family is on a family vacation which none of the kids want to be on. After doing some exploring of the rental house they discover Zirkonians a race of aliens who came to Earth in a meteor shower. The Zirkonians they find are a scouting party for an invasion force, the kids must stop the aliens and make sure their parents don’t find out.
The Zirkonians have some cool devices which include a dart-like device that lets the aliens take over a person. This paves the way to some funny scenes with Bethany’s (Ashely Tisdale) jerk of a boyfriend and their grandmother taking each other on in a kung-fu/Matrix like fights. But the Pearsons use their cleverness to take some of the devices and find a way to turn the tide of battle.
The movie is fun for children, but the plot is simplistic and adults will be easily bored However, it’s a good way to keep kids occupied for a good 90 minutes while the adults go do their own thing.
Extras for Aliens in The Attic include introductions to both the film and special features by Ashley Tisdale, an alternate ending with unfinished footage, deleted scenes, gag reel, a prequel to the movie showing what the Zirkonians were up to right before the movie started. There’s also a few behind the scenes featurettes, one focused on the aliens and the other dedicated to Ashley Tisdale as well as a faux commercial for a granny gaming system.
Special Features include: - Introductions by star Ashley Tisdale - Alternate ending - Behind-the-scenes featurettes - Deleted scenes - Gag reel - Prequel - Fake commercial
