HRC Honors Akin Gump with Ally of Justice Award

The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender civil rights organization, today announced that Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld, a leading international law firm, has been named the recipient of the 2008 "Ally of Justice" award.

The annual award recognizes outstanding contributions to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community through pro bono service to HRC.

Let me get this straight. The very law firm which does pro bono work for HRC is the same firm that HRC rates for its CEI index ??? Sounds like a serious conflict of interest !!! Also, if legal counsel is not costing HRC anything then where is all of the money that HRC takes in going ??? Since this is all about corporate deal making now Joe, maybe we should start calling your organization the Holdings Recipience Cartel (HRC)............
