The Pope has used his Christmas message to say that "saving" humanity from homosexual or transsexual behaviour is as important as protecting the rainforests.

Benedict XVI said: "It [the Church] must defend not only the earth, the water and the air as gifts of creation belonging to everyone, but it must also protect mankind against the destruction of itself. The tropical forests deserve our protection, but man as a creature deserves it no less."

In comments which provoked outrage among human rights groups, he went on to say that the failure to respect the "order of creation" as a union between a man and a woman was a form of "auto-destruction of mankind".

Anything that deviated from this was a "destruction of God’s works," the Pope told the Curia, the Vatican’s ruling body.

Under the teachings of the Catholic Church, homosexual acts are a sin and it also strongly condemns same sex marriages. Two months ago the Vatican said that homosexuality was "a deviation, an irregularity, a wound".

The 81-year-old Pope also attacked those who underwent sex changes, saying: "It is not man who decides who is a man or woman but God."

The Vatican expressed concerns this month at a UN attempt to decriminalise homosexuality because they feared it would encourage same sex unions.

Aurelio Mancuso, president of Italian gay rights group Arcigay, said: "While Italian citizens are tackling one of the worst economic crisis in the history of the country, the Catholic Church has for weeks talked only of the gay threat the world faces." Mr Mancuso said that "gays have become an obsession" with the Pope, adding: "He spends his whole time talking about gender, an argument that geriatrics are passionately obsessed about."

The mind-numbed homosexualists will call this hate speech of course. They’re nothing if not predictable, but here’s the deal: the homosexualists have for years now made open war upon religion. Religion kept mum as long as we were moving towards an orderly recognition of civil unions, but when the spoiled brat homos decided they had to have "gay marriage," thereby invading what is in fact a holy sacrament, religion struck back. As a result, the stupid left wing bomb throwers have expanded their catalog of hatreds to include the Mormon, Evangelical and Catholic Churches. Talk about the mouse that roared. If these ridiculous children, brought up by kindergarten teachers reading them "King and King" and inculcating vapid images of middle class suburban life in their little heads full of mush, imagine they are going to march out and destroy the world’s religions so that nobody on earth remains in power who opposes them, then these little boys are out of their minds. Even within the homosexual community itself, the backlash against the miniscule radical forces of "gay marriage or die" is starting to grow and express itself and these little brats are going to wake up and find themselves alone and outnumbered.

Rico it is obvious that you are ignorant. It is after all because of religion that making love to your ones gay partner was against the law. All consentual crimes are based on the ethical values of the Church. And your holy sacrament of marriage is no longer so holy when so many end up in divorse. Religion is distroying itself. How many people do you know still go to Church. They will get more people by teaching tolerance instead of hate. It seems that that is what you have learned from going to Church, or do you attend Church regularly. Maybe you just use Church as your excuse for hatred.
