After you’ve shaved, all those open pores need to be soothed and closed. It would also help to feed your skin. That’s where after shaves comes in.

Traditionally, after-shave stung like a mother, made your eyes water and were no fun to be around. Nowadays they’re chock-full of natural ingredients – herbs and such- to help promote a healthier ‘visage.’ After exhausting the ‘EDGE Grooming Team of Testers’ with shaving gels, lotions and creams… we did it again! From more than 50 products, here are our faves:

Peter Thomas Roth Conditioning Multi-Tasking After Shave Tonic

With a name like that, it better be good- and it is. Peter Thomas Roth Clinical Skin Care offers the Conditioning Multi-Tasking After Shave Tonic for après shave. It contains pro Vitamin B5, allantoin, glycerin, menthol, witch hazel, mandarin orange and lemon peel. Made for all skin types, it has a strong alcohol smell, but didn’t make our faces tingle, burn or hurt. In fact, it felt soothing and made our skin quite happy.

Ingrown Hairs

Okay, you’ve done everything you’re supposed to do, yet you still have that ingrown hair from hell, what can you do? We liked Nickel’s Smooth Operator. It’s an ingrown hair gel that will smack down zits, conquer ingrown hairs and dry up oily skin. Our hero! $15 www.nickelformen.com

OK EDGE men- we’ve done the hard work. We’ve sweated, shaved, slapped, sniffed and pummeled our skin so you won’t have to use either Granddad’s stuff or the 99-cent special. You’re a modern man; use modern products. You’ll find yourself having so much fun taking care of yourself and your skin that people will just want to touch you. That’s where all the real fun begins.
