For the socially savvy gay, New Year’s Eve can feel like amateur night, so up your ante and ring in 2012 with style - no matter your situation.

On December 31, approximately 1 million revelers, celebrating the start of the new year, will fill New York City’s Times Square to enjoy performances by Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber and to watch the famous New Year’s Eve Ball descend from One Times Square.

Since 2004, Russians have been partying through the first 10 days of January, after May holidays were moved to winter to give people some respite during their seemingly interminable deep freeze.

It’s the biggest public party in the country. Nearly a million revelers will cram into the streets of Times Square to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve.

The holiday season has finally come to a close, leaving some off us joyous, broke, and a little heftier in the stomach than we were before the festivities.
