The Human Rights Campaign’s annual gala moved back to the Hynes Convention Center this year, where 700 community members in formal wear toasted the political victories of the past year, and renewed their determination to reclaim losses such as gay marriage in California and Maine. The 39th Annual Atlanta Pride took place in Piedmont Park this past Halloween weekend. This last Pride celebration of the year was filled with both pride and halloween outfits and happily outlined by Obama’s pledge to end the ban of homosexuals in the military. EDGE joined the thousands of people who came out to celebrate pride and halloween in Atlanta and brings you a special album of the last Pride of the year: Atlanta Pride!

They had their marathon-and we had ours-and let’s all admit it right now: the circuit marathon is a helluva lot more fun and fabulous than running 26 miles from Staten Island. Why? Because, number one, we were dancing for 26 miles-and number two, because the finish line was Alegria-and we all know that the final leg of the marathon is the best, and particularly when you cross the threshold into Ric Sena’s Alegria @ M2 where collective joy reigns.

After-hours are for vampires. After-hours in New York are where it’s always Halloween-and never more debauched than on Halloween night at Purgatorio, rechristened PostPurgatorio by the Saint at Large for their All Saints priapic bacchanal. With four deejays and two dance floors, as well as a rooftop lounge for those vampires unafraid of light, PostPurgatorio proved to be the perfect crypt for those unwilling to return to their coffins.

This past August, New Yorkers discovered that Mother Nature had yet another weapon in her arsenal of inclement weather: a sudden and violent storm called a microburst that wreaks havoc on the landscape-and last night at Roseland, an even more fearsome microburst hammered the crowd-and this one was called Peter Rauhofer. Emerging from an immense cloud cover, following a thundering set by DJ Paulo, Rauhofer threw down a tutorial on drama, a lesson in theatrics complete with lightning bolt lasers and an anthemic and scream-filled "Sing With Me" as an opener that seemed both apocalyptic and inspirational-and surged through the Roseland crowd like a blood transfusion.
