San Diego Students Watch Porn, Masturbate in Class as Part of ’Gay Test’
Nine students from a San Diego school allegedly watched porn on their cell phones and masturbated during class as part of a "gay test" that some students made, the New York Daily News reported.
Some students, who were part of an all-male English class at Bell Middle High School, claim that their teacher did nothing to stop the group of boys from masturbating and looking at the porn, however.
Students reported the incident to school officials in May and the officials later suspended the boys.
The U-T San Diego newspaper obtained the reports, which state that witnesses said the boys were wearing gym shorts when they watched porn on their phones and many of them masturbated in front of other classmates. The documents also say that a number of students complained to the teacher, Ed Johnson, but he dismissed them and said if he caught the offenders in the act he would send them to the principal. Johnson, the reports say, went back to teaching.
"It really made me and the other students mad that he wouldn’t do anything... and it was affecting our education and it was nasty, also," one student told the newspaper.
The teacher’s union told NBC San Diego that Johnson has not been suspended because the allegations against the students have yet to be proven.
The reports go on to say that the boys watched the porn and masturbated because it was part of a "gay test" that some students created. Witnesses claim if the students became aroused during specific clips they would be considered gay.
One student told the news station that he was not surprised that Johnson allegedly ignored the situation.
"He’s my teacher but I’m in a different period, and he doesn’t really do much about anything because he’s not a good teacher," the anonymous student said. "He always reads. That’s all we do in class is read you read with him, no he reads and we listen."
