Bill Maher concluded the episode of "Real Time" the Friday before the election by saying "It is your choice America, because for me it is a win-win. If it’s Obama, America wins, and if it’s Romney, comedy wins."

Not that comedy lost with Obama’s win, as this video put together by TalkingPointsMemo.com shows.

Over the election, America got to know Romney and the consensus was that - like his politics or not - he was the most awkward politician since Michael Dukakis took a ride in a tank. Not only did he gaffe with surprising regularity, he never connected. Mittmentum was a myth - Obama’s comeback in the polls occurred well before Hurricane Sandy. Republicans simply believed in an alternate reality; ridiculing Nate Silver’s data-driven predictions until he was proven correct (right down to Florida).

But no matter what the reason, Mittens was comic gold for Maher, John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and every late night host and stand-up comic in the country.

I feel like I’ve just finished eating a frozen snicker bar after reading this article.

His fellow Republicans were correct back in the last winter and early spring: Mitt Romney was a bad choice and poor leader.
