The Dinah :: 22 Years Strong...Does It Again.
The revelry continued into the night with phenomenal rocking parties. Friday’s signature "White Party" saw performances by #1 Billboard recording artists Nina Sky and Wynter Gordon. Mariah Hanson, founder of the leading ladies circuit event confessed: "The Dinah is becoming more and more like a music festival". Her talent for bringing in breakout musical acts and renown recording artists was never more apparent than this year.
For Every Woman...
This theme of the event "The Dinah Goes to Rio" brought us the one and only "Queen of Funk" Chaka Khan, who brought down the house singing some new tracks and legendary hits such as, "Ain’t Nobody," "Tell Me Something Good," "I Feel For You" along with the undeniably lesbian crowd-pleasing "I’m Every Woman" where she invited her gal-pal CeCe Peniston to sing a duet.
Ce-Ce-Celebrate!
The evening came to a close with a late-night über sexy performance by British pop sensation Neon Hitch, performing her daring hit single, "F**k U Betta".
Fueled by fun in the sun the ladies made their way poolside beginning at 9am. And again, by noon it was another sea of women. Meital and Porcelain Black kept weariness and hangovers at bay with back-to-back high-octane performances.
The weekend’s festivities didn’t stop there. Sunday’s pool party turned the heat up with a sizzling hot performance by Top 10 recording artist Dev. There may not have been a cloud in the sky but when Dev broke into the smash hit, "Dancing In The Dark," the ladies went wild, dancing up a storm. The energy continued as the weekend closed out with yet another ’off the chain’ (the catch-phrase this year) party. Dance house music diva, CeCe Peniston, most appropriately debuted her new single, "Celebrate." The night couldn’t have ended on a better note. The Dinah is all about celebrating our community, our diversity, and our fierceness!
Suffice to say many are still recovering from the shock of Chaka. Don’t miss out on next year’s celebration as this party just keeps getting better and better!
Mark your calendars now and save the date for April 3-7, 2013!
